1. Within the Resort
There is tons to do - multiple restaurants and beach clubs, a sports center with tennis courts, the beach, the pool, the spa...need we say more? Details about all of these things can be found at the resort's website.
2. The Castle
A bit about Castell de Tamarit: Its history begins in the 11th century. Its territory passed through the hands of different lords until the 13th century. It basically fell to ruin during all of Napolean's shenanigans until 1916 when an American philanthropist decided to restore it. So, we aren't the first Americans to come along and think, this place is special, and want to share it with our favorite lords and ladies of the present day. For the historians on our guest list, there is loads to see and explore around the grounds if you're looking to do more than just the electric slide on Sunday.
3. Nearby
Within walking distance are various hikes and walks around the resort and the castle, as well as along the Gaia River. A slightly longer walk (about 25 minutes) will take you to the charming towns of either Altafulla or Ferran - quintessentially quaint Mediterranean towns, best viewed at sunset.
There is both a train and bus station within walking distance of the hotel resort, both of which go all the way to Barcelona if you wanna!
4. If You Have a Car...
There are several wineries nearby, all about 20 minutes or so from the resort - Montblanc, Porrera, Gratallops, Falset, Gandesa....need we go on?
About 20 minutes away from the resort is the world famous Devil's Bridge, one of the most well-preserved Roman aqueducts in the world (as well as a prime Instagram spot. Just saying...)
About 40 minutes away from the resort is the historic Cistercian Route - a tour that travels through 3 historic monasteries of the region.
Barcelona itself is just over an hour away from the resort, in which you can find world class cuisine, outrageously inexpensive wine, dancing in the streets...but you already knew that, didn't you?
